Plus Elbow, Foals, Neon Neon donating art for War Child

A host of artists and bands have donated personally-written placards with political messages on them to an eBay auction that will benefit the War Child charity.

REM's Michael Stipe, Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello, Jarvis Cocker and Public Enemy's Chuck D have all contributed to the auction, which is set to start on September 30.

Other artists involved include British Sea Power (whose placard reads "Let's Keep Polar Bears") and Neon Neon ("Open The Borders"), along with Foals, Modest Mouse, Billy Bragg, Elbow, The Flaming Lips, Moby, Noah And The Whale, Fleet Foxes and Supergrass.

A War Child compilation, 'Heroes', will be released on November 22. It features Beck, The Kooks, Duffy and Hot Chip.
