Portishead star opens gallery selling Horrors frontman's artwork

Friend And Co deals in 'outsider art', says Geoff Barrow

Portishead's Geoff Barrow has opened his own art gallery in Bristol.

The independent gallery, called Friend And Co, is run by Barrow and, appropriately enough, "a friend".

With an aim to stock and sell 'outsider art', the shop currently features artwork from the likes of The Horrors frontman Faris Badwan.

Badwan's contribution - a picture of a rat called 'Infant' - is available to buy from Friendandco.bigcartel.com, strictly limited to 100 copies, priced at £50 each.

Writing on Friend And Co's blog, Barrow referred to the shop as "the smallest gallery in the world...Ever!".

All stock is limited edition, with the website stating: "Once we sell out, that's it!"

Barrow recently posted a MySpace blog saying that he and the other members of Portishead were "doing other stuff for now, but we have been working on something new for your ears".
