Jim James taken to hospital after fall in Iowa last night (October 7)

My Morning Jacket singer Jim James was hospitalised last night after he fell during a show at the University of Iowa.

James slipped and fell around half an hour into the band’s set at the Recreation Building on the university campus, resulting in the cancellation of the rest of the show.

The fall happened when the stage was dark between songs, and James reportedly injured his head. The other band members left the stage after the incident.

Drummer Patrick Hallahan came back onstage after around 10 minutes and told the crowd that James was “really hurt” and was taken to hospital, reports the Iowa Gazette.

The band are due to continue the tour tomorrow night (October 9) in Chicago. There is no word yet if the rest of the tour will be affected.
