Plus Dev Hynes tries his hand at being The Cribs on NME/Radio 1 Stage

Lightspeed Champion said goodbye to his debut solo album at the Leeds Festival this afternoon (August 22).

Playing the NME/ Radio 1 Stage, Dev Hynes announced his band were playing one of their last gigs promoting 'Falling Off The Lavender Bridge', which came out in January.

"This is like our third from last show for this album," he told the crowd before opener 'Dry Lips', "thanks for coming."

However the set looked forward too, including new songs 'The Kids' and 'Marlene'.

"There was a rumour we would replace Slipknot," Hynes joked with the crowd later on, referring to the masked rockers' sudden withdrawal from the festival. "We couldn't take that weight on our shoulders, so here we are."

Instead, Lightspeed Champion tried his hand at being tonight's NME/Radio 1 Stage headliners The Cribs, jamming out a section of the band's 'I'm A Realist' as the crowd sung along.

"When they play I'm going to be right there!" declared Hynes afterwards, pointing at the front row.

Finishing up with his usual 'Star Wars' medley, Hynes thanked the crowd then asked: "Did anyone come here when [old band] Test Icicles played here? I think there were just 20 people in the tent!"

Lightspeed Champion played:

'Dry Lips'
'Galaxy Of The Lost'
'No Surprise'
'The Kids'
'I'm A Realist' (jam)
'Tell Me What It's Worth'
'Marlene'
'Star Wars Medley'/'Midnight Surprise'
