Ian Brown battles against Muse at V Festival
Ex-Stone Roses man pulls a large crowd in Staffordshire
Ian Brown played a headline slot at the Staffordshire leg of this year's V Festival tonight (August 17).
Performing at the same time as main headliners Muse in the JJB Arena, the former Stone Roses frontman saw his strong northern following pack out the tent.
Shadow boxing and jumping round the stage, Brown played a set comprised of his solo material including 'Golden Gaze', 'F.E.A.R.' and 'Dolphins Were Monkeys', plus one song by his former band.
In a nod to playing the northern leg of the V Festival, the singer asked the gathered throng, "Who's from the north?"
The crowd responded with a loud cheer then Brown said: "Who's not from the north?", prompting boos. "No - we don't do booing here, only bopping," Brown then said. "This tune's got bopability if you like bopping."
Brown then launched into The Stone Roses' 'Made Of Stone', which received the hugest cheer of the headline set.
