Garbage singer gets regular TV role
Shirley Manson is set to pursue a full-time acting career, having landed a regular role on a US TV series.
The Garbage lead singer will appear in a recurring role on ‘Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles’ which airs on Fox.
Manson will play Catherine Weaver, the “CEO of Cyberdyne, a cutting edge hi-tech company” in the show, which is an offshoot of the successful Terminator movies starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The Hollywood Reporter says that the show was the highest-rated new scripted series of the 2007-2008 season.
As previously reported, Manson’s debut solo album is due to be released this year. Track details of the venture were leaked online, including a possible album title.
Manson worked with Beck, The White Stripes' Jack White, Smashing Pumpkins' Billy Corgan and The Blue Nile’s Paul Buchanan on songs, the titles of which appeared on the website of the American Society Of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP).
